Personal Evangelism
7:00 - 9:30 pm
How to share the gospel with other individuals. Deals with
the subject theoretically and practically. Includes sections on how to
give a personal testimony, how to share the gospel with people in other
religions, how to use gospel tracts effectively. how to overcome fear,
etc. A course everyone should take.
Tuesdays and Thursdays
The Great Awakenings
7:45 - 9:00 am
A study of revivalism in America between 1730 and 1860. Special attention
will be given to the ministries of the men and women who spread the gospel
throughout the land and saw God's great power in action. The lives of
such notables as Jonathan Edwards, George Whitefield, Timothy Dwight,
Francis Asbury, Amanda Smith and Charles Finney will be examined.
Evangelism and the Book of Acts
11:55am - 1:10pm
A verse by verse exposition of the Book of Acts, including an evaluation
of the evangelistic methods of the early church, an analysis of the evangelistic
sermons found in Acts, and an examination of the part the Holy Spirit
played in advancing the Kingdom during the first century. Our ultimate
goal is to discover practical evangelistic principles, which can be implemented
in the twenty-first century.
Wednesdays and Fridays
Evangelistic Preaching
10:30 - 11:45 am
- A hands-on course designed to help the student prepare and deliver an
effective evangelistic sermon. Among topics to be covered will be: The
nature of the Gospel; Preaching sermons that convict; The use of persuasion;
Calling people to repentance and faith; The effective use of illustrations;
and How to extend an evangelistic invitation. Each student will be given
an opportunity to preach.
